What is at the heart of what makes the world turn in the way it does? I notice I have taken the (?) preface / introductory chapter to Brave New World very seriously in its remark that it is not technology at all, but rather only sociological understanding, that has shaped the world as it is -- a thought that I believe I have also heard repeated afterwards a number of times; and I have been trying to reconcile it with the current status and effects of IT on the world. ...
